En hyllningsskrift för dansen
Skriften dansaredansardansdansant är något så ovanligt som en samling texter om dans, av dansare, för dansare. Den är en kollektiv manifestation för att skapa en plattform för dialog, reflektion och kunskapsspridning av den samtida danskonsten i Sverige. Skriften hade release 11 juni 2024 och finns att ladda ner digitalt sedan 12 juni 2024.

I skriften får vi möta verksamma danskonstnärer som enskilt och kollektivt – och högst personligt – bjuder in läsarna till sina olika dansvärldar. Intentionen med samlingen är inte att de ska ses som enskilda röster utan som en kollektiv manifestation för att skapa en plattform för dialog, reflektion och kunskapsspridning av danskonsten i stort. Skriften har översatts till engelska så att den även kan spridas bortom våra gränser.
- dansaredansardansdansant riktar sig till allt från danskonstnärer till amatördansare, från dansbanorna på landsbygden till fritidsgårdarnas danslokaler i stan. Men det är också en skrift för politiker som behöver en djupdykning i danskonsten för att bättre förstå dedikationen bakom det professionella hantverket liksom för allmänheten för att se värdet av danskonsten som en del av det demokratiska samhället, säger redaktörerna Paloma Madrid och Nina Josef, båda yrkesverksamma dansare och koreografer, och fortsätter:
- Vi vill visa på bredden av konstnärskap som finns inom det svenska dans- och koreografifältet idag, med förhoppningen att väcka intresse och debatt om både exkludering, långsam förändring och institutionell passivitet.
Riksteatern och Cullberg är tillsammans med MDT (Moderna Dansteatern i Stockholm), Danscentrum Stockholm och Stockholms konstnärliga högskola ansvarig utgivare för skriften. Institutionerna har under en längre haft en dialog om en publikation kring dans där olika danskonstnärer fick möjlighet att uttrycka sig i skrift om sin dans.
- Man skulle kunna säga att det är en festival i skrift där vi får syn på dansarnas och koreografernas olikheter och likheter och ger oss en inblick i dessa konstnärskap. Jag hoppas att skriften skapa nyfikenhet både inom och utanför dansfältet, säger Riksteaterns danschef Mia Larsson.

The publication dancersdancedancesdancingly is something as unusual as a collection of texts about dance, by dancers, for dancers. It is a collective manifestation to create a platform for dialogue, reflection and knowledge of contemporary dance art in Sweden. The publication was released on June 11, 2024 and is available for digital download since June 12, 2024.
In dancersdancedancesdancingly we meet active dance artists who individually and collectively – and in a highly personal way – invite the readers to their different dance worlds. The intention of the collection is not for them to be seen as individual voices but as a collective manifestation to create a platform for dialogue, reflection and knowledge of the art of contemporary dance.
- dancersdancedancesdancingly is aimed at everything from dance artists to amateur dancers, from the dance floors in the countryside to the dance halls in the city. It is also a publication for politicians who need to dive into the art of contemporary dance as well as for the public to see the value of the art of contemporary dance as part of the democratic society, say editors Paloma Madrid and Nina Josef, both professional dancers and choreographers, and continues:
- We want to show the spectrum of artistry that exists within the Swedish contemporary dance and choreography field today, to raise awareness and debate about both exclusion, slow change and institutional passivity.
Riksteatern and Cullberg together with MDT (Moderna Dansteatern i Stockholm), Danscentrum Stockholm and Stockholms konstnärliga högskola (SKH) are publishers for the publication. The institutions have for some time had a dialogue about a publication about dance where different dance artists were given the opportunity to express themselves in writing about their dance.
- You could say that it is a festival in a written form where we see the differences and similarities of the dancers and choreographers and give us an insight into these artistry. I hope that this publication creates curiosity both within and outside the dance field, says Riksteatern's director of dance Mia Larsson.
